Grand Opening Launch Event

Midfield Interactive is pleased to have been part of the launch of Canada’s largest open-air shopping mall. With only 3 weeks lead time, we were tasked with supporting the Grand Opening Launch of The Outlet Collection of Niagara (OCAN) and asked to create a plan to help provide a unique service-driven customer shopping experience at the new mall.

The Strategy

Midfield took a blanketed approach to engaging OCANs new customer base, looking to touch guests as soon as they drove on property and not stop providing unique surprises until they had completed their shopping journey.

The Experience

As soon as they arrived, guests were treated to a friendly smile and a helping hand, as roaming teams of car detailers offered to clean the tires and windows of guests cars while they shopped. Once out of the parking lot our team met shoppers with coupon offers, bottled water and the opportunity to win free gift cards. As they shopped, guests were also greeted by roaming musicians and circus performers, and offered the opportunity to snap a shopping selfie in our free photo booths. In addition to facilitating the delivery of prizes, giveaways and entertainment, our team also provided a friendly helping hand to shoppers as they got to know the new mall, providing directions and retailer information, as well as portering bags to cars and providing directions home.
